With 230 posts you would not have that much reputation.
Actually I do. It's called substance. Try it. Seems I have as much as you do in 20% as many posts, if you want to play the 'whose weiner is bigger' game.

And FYI, everything Liberals accuse Conservatives of being can be directly reapplied to them.
Newsflash: the Liberals aren't in power. If Conservatives and their supporters can't take being grilled because they are the ruling party, and should be held responsible just as they did to the Libs when they were in opposition, then it's a pretty sad state of affairs. Should the opposition not oppose, or what?

This is what I was talking about in the other thread: "but... but... but the Liberals!!!11!" Weak.

Yep, I saw it. Lot of red. One must have been pretty vulgar; now you've piqued my interest.

How are Liberals or the left closed minded?

Walk a mile in a Conservatives shoes if you dare....denounce Multiculturism, the Canadian Health Care System, the Status of Womens Department, the gun registry or the CBC or better yet praise an American corporation and see how "open minded" you Liberals (leftists) are.

Or, you could just not denounce Multiculturism, the Canadian Health Care System, the Status of Womens Department, the gun registry or the CBC or better yet praise an American corporation in the first place.

Put your paint brush away.

You're going to sit here and pretend you don't understand "How are Liberals or the left closed minded?" ?

You don't understand what any of that means?

So politics (and apparently, those who voted as such) wasn't common sense when the Conservatives were screwing this country left and right in '92 and were punished to two seats in the HoC? Are you saying that people who voted left were stupid before and are now, thanks to the Conservatives, are just coming into focus with your ideologies? That would seem to me like you are trying to say that you're somehow better, more educated, and know what's better for people than those on the left
Yes. Good for you for realising the obvious.

No, I asked West why he thought Liberal supporters were closed minded, based on his experiences, and was completely skirted on the issue. Instead what I got was a vague insinuation from you, being all incredulous that the opposition party is actually opposing things.

hahaha, now I know you're a troll. If you're looking to make a bid to be the most narrow-minded and insepid poster here, I'm pretty sure you've got some big competition here; but I'll give you credit, you're certainly trying.

I'm sorry West skirted your issue, I'm sure he had a good reason.

It's not a vague insinuation at all....I dare you to take me up on it. Go find yourself some lefties and say your all for two-tier healthcare. Tell them you don't think Islam is a religion of peace. Tell them you don't believe global warming is man made and Kyoto is just a wealth transfer scheme.... I think you'll start to see what is being said here after a few bouts of that.

Didn't David Suzuki recently walk out on a radio show host in the middle of a show because the host dared suggest that it wasn't proven man is causing global warming? I'll bet he huffed and puffed all the way over to his diesel bus and drove across the country....being not arrogant or closed minded and everything.

I just jumped in here because I don't believe people don't understand why someone would say what West said.

Fair enough Jay; I'll play the devil's advocate. Even though I'm a Liberal and supposedly closed-minded for being such, I'll spend the next few days antagonizing "lefties" around town and seeing their reactions.

You want my honest opinion? I think it's unfair of either of us to paint groups of people based purely on their political inclinations. I'm not David Suzuki. Stephane Dion is not David Suzuki. Everyone in the universe except David Suzuki, is not David Suzuki. Like when the parrots say that Stephen Harper represents right-winged demons, one example does not a fact make.

There are valid and wonderful posts on each side of the spectrum, and people of varying degrees of excellence as well; I'm quite happy we live in a country where we're free to debate so freely, without consequence. I think politics is a lot more shades of grey than the black-and-white you're saying it is. I'm a centrist by nature, and you're likely just to the right of centre. It might surprise you to know that though I am a Liberal, there are things Harper has done that I actually do agree with and approve of, like righting the income trusts and his proposals to get tough on crime (especially youth crime). But this left versus right crap? C'mon, am I a Communist and you're a Faschist? I sincerely doubt it, but the difference is nil when it's broken down to a simple left versus right issue.

Now, as for skirting the issue, you know as well as I do the reasons for it, defending (and not exactly being an unprecedented anamoly) aside - but I digress. I wanted some reasoning for blanket statements; I don't think that's too much to ask for someone who wants to debate on a political forum. You certainly didn't seem to have a problem with that, and for that I thank you.

I would describe most Liberals on this forum as arragont, and closed-minded, yes.
duh ya think?? It's amazing to me that because they are so sure they are right they can't see the pomp arrogance they spew... Liberals know best...you don't need to think they can do it for you. That's why the hate all thought right of center. it means you do your own thinking....a very taboo place to be since they are so sure the common man can't think for themselves..that why we need the Liberals , to show us layman to true road to mushy middleness

Look who's talking. It certainly goes both ways (and I can be big enough to admit that partisanship can bring out the worst in me), but it's pretty indicitive if you can't realize that to be the case, and feel that it's just a one-way street. I mean, all you have to do is scroll up this page to see you and your bretheren embodying all of those same characteristics that you are vilifying others for. Grow up.

So why should we not denounce it?

are we not entitled to our opinions?

So we are antagonizing, because we question the status quo, the nanny state, the mushrooming of gov't, the endless hug a thug schemes, the endless sloth/waste and corruption?

That's not antagonizing(unless you're a Liberal I guess), that's call common sense.

But you just shot that theory in the foot with your choice of words (antagonizing)and your request of Conservatives to not denounce agendas.
