NDP and middle are two terms that absolutely do not belong together.

You say Harper and the conservatives are out of touch...so then can you explain to me why they are currently in government and received the highest percentage of votes nationally by any political party in the last election? And if the NDP are so in-touch with people, you mind explaining why they

a) Have never formed government?
b) Have never received over 20.5% of all votes cast in a federal election since 1962?
c) Have never received more than 15% of the seats in parliament?

Let's face it, the NDP is a borderline fringe party which does not reflect the views of the majority of Canadians, although Jack Layton constantly likes to talk about how they do. I for one will never vote for a party who's main points are thinking that I'm not smart or capable enough to make my own decisions, so they'll do it for me and take a much larger portion of my paycheck for the convenience, and do a fair bit to punish hard work and reward sloth.
I'll second that bit of intellegence.

No one seems to like Madonna. I think she look cute there.
I liked the rose coloured glasses one. So appropriate here.
Oh yeah the political thread.......anything to get the Bloc out the door is fine by me, even if it is underhanded. The budget was a big kelp in the Quebec election, though it didn't help that the Honorable Steven opened his mouth about Quebec federal choice in the election. That just adds fuel back to the Seperatist speghetti party.

I'll "third" it. I don't know why some people spend so much attention on the NDP. They stand about as much chance of forming a federal government as I have of becoming the Pope.

Given the fact that you have bore the brunt of my affections, without resorting to hunting me down or resorting to the asshatery of some of the others I challenge with my sense of distain, not only would I vote for ya to be the Pope, I'ld gladly be your personal food taster.

You're a good man Padre, though I do not agree with all you say, your strength, determination and conviction are parallel to mine, how can I fault ya for that?

Liberals- years of lies about GST and ignored issues of key importance. Sponsorship scandal, etc.
Conservatives- out of touch and Harper is a non-capable leader as he gets easily manipulated by polls.
Bloc Quebecois- don't even get me started.
NDP- Caring for average people like you and I who are right in the middle- the majority of the population.

Now, people. Let's think who we send to Ottawa....
Sorry liberals never lied about the GST. they kept their promise. That was just a myth and fear mongering from the sour conservatives.

If I remember well the Liberals promised to get rid of the GST right after the Mulrooney run.

Contrary to popular belief, the Liberals did not promise to remove the tax altogether. Instead, the Red Book commits to replacing the GST “with a system that generates equivalent revenues, is fairer to consumers and to small business, minimizes disruption to small business, and promotes federal-provincial fiscal cooperation and harmonization.”

However, most provinces did not sign on. Furthermore, it became clear that a large segment of the public thought the Liberals promised to abolish the tax altogether. It didn’t help matters when the media began playing a campaign speech in which Chrétien flatly stated that the tax would be “scrapped.” There was an enormous amount of protest when the public realized that the GST was here to stay.

The great GST flap led to Liberal Sheila Copps resigning her Hamilton seat and running again. She said she'd been shamed to it after witnessing local reaction to the Chretien about-turn. Suffice it to say it led to her re-election and one of the most celebrated political cartoons in Canadian newspaper history. Hamilton East voters, after Copps' re-election were shown in an editorial page cartoon in the Toronto Sun, as all having asses for heads.
