Hermann

I don't know how to repair this.....

When I made the joke I was saying it with good cheer and love about the bleacher crowd... a bunch of guys getting together to whoop on whatever they wanted to in comraderie....

These days it happens not that often, unless they happen to have some "beer courage" ... because I think men are relegated to the back door far too often in our society.

It gave me fun - and I was laughing at the remarks all you guys made. I disagree all men are bastards at all. The men I happen to have for friends, I wouldn't trade for the world. They are my backbone.

Diva? Making an issue out of zip, nada and nothing.
It's something I know well....I come from a long line of a divas who have honed their craft well!

Sorry again...

I think we're both divas. i was never upset about anything, just playing at the pouting kid who doesnt understand

The gods are only accountable to themselves. One of the perks of the job I guess. The gods may be consistant, if only in their inconsistancy. Myth and legend abound with gods who commit "sins" and transgress aginst one another and even prey on believers. They have even been known to play pranks. It is their worshippers who have issues with inconsistancy, what with their sects, schisms and interpretations.

God has/is and always be consistent!
Is accountable only to Himself/Herself/it or whatever your view of God is.
Mine is as a loving Father.
He loved me before I ever knew Him, because He predestined me to become His son, to live with Him forever.
He is my fortress, my refuge, my Redeemer, He changes not.
He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
He is the "I am" that always was, is, and forever shall be!

By accountable I mean as He Himself considers it.

AndyF
Obviously not. The holey book tells us that.

Consistently chaotic.

Just like politicians like to be, accountable only to themselves. "Oh, gee, I caused a flood that killed thousands of people. Bad me. ................... Hmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder where I put my milkshake." roflmao

So you think He's indifferent?

I guess it's hard to visualize a being that can be non effected if He chose, then decide to become affected. But it doesn't make sense to do that does it?. Why go from the comfortable to the uncomfortable. If one of your created being's misery suddenly affects you, make him non-existant, then create another clone at the state he was in just prior to when you were unhappy, then try again, keep doing it just as long as his action creates misery. The unique "Love" you had for him can be duplicated in the next of his clones. So you now "Love" him in the same uniqueness you had for the former. I'm assuming even uniqueness can be duplicated by Him.

Religion describes created beings has needing a creator, but I sometime wonder if we put too much weight on the belief of the Creator's omni(whatever) dependance on nothing. Maybe He does need us. In the vast nothingness we are told He is content in existance without any other beings. Utterly alone....... but content. Now if there suddenly becomes a desire to be not alone in existance, isn't that a disatisfaction of state, or disatisfaction of some form, or is that simply a desire to have a difference. Is the desire for difference an imperfection? Is the desire for amusement a disatisfaction, if that is the correct word.? It does serve to satiate something.

On another angle, a being can create a caring striving world where each being has brotherly love, but be governed by an indifferent Creator who claims to be caring, just as it can for a Creator who is caring, and we couldn't even tell the difference.

Just waxing metaphysical.

What would be the sensible thing to do in this case: I bought a razor to shave with, when I went to use it, it did not meet the standard by which I expected it to. It worked somewhat, but pulled more whiskers then it cut.
So, I discarded it and bought a different one which worked perfectly.

Was I justified in discarding the less than standard razor which pleased me not?

What say ye?

depends if you're talking about a razor or not.

let's assume you arent:

The bible states several times that the answer is no, you mustnt change the teachings of your god, and you mustnt change Him either.

Although we have established that most of us agree the bible isnt a reliable source, contains many contradictions and biases due to the age in which is was compiled and it's many translations by partial and sometimes inaccurate monks/kings/random people.

i'd say metaphor. i couldn't continue it any further though. if it was a razor it'd be only sensible to buy a new one, or sharpen the old one. rather more complex when talking about god

Complex is correct. When talking about things of God. The things of God have to do with spiritual understanding, while the things on earth don't!
So, in order to understand the things of God, one needs to let God tell us what He means.

which is all very well if you're able to hear Him.

I can't even sense His existance, or non-existance. communication would be several steps down the line

Hearing Him is not as a physical sound, but listening with our spirits is how He communicates with us.
