Its called "Air Transat", and they seem cheap - should I be worried about anything?

Odds are you'll probably survive a flight...assuming they don't run out of fuel during the flight.

I use to fly Air Transat all the time before it switched to "Tour Flying" only, it's a good company. I'm not sure if they still give out peanuts thou.

Well the good news is that they can land planes without engines, gliding in over the Atlantic Ocean onto tiny Azores islands without functioning navigation equipment. The bad news is that they have to occasionally do this.

Let's see, I have had several delays with Air Transat, each time because of "technical problems" Air transat has had several engine fires on their planes and they have left airports one hour ahead of the scheduled time leaving passengers stranded.

But heck, I was scheduled to fly on the Air France flight that crashed in TO and last minute was switched to another flight, so Air Transat looks pretty good now.

I've flown with them before. Never again. The leg room is next to nothing and extremely crammed into a supposed seat. Never, ever ever ever again!

(My mother who is short also complained)

This is my favorite airline; any kind of flying makes me so tired, I just say, "oh, *(^* it"

If you can, fly with BA. They are definately one of the most comfortable airlines and their service isn't too bad either. If you book far enough in advance (as I usually do), you can get a good price. I've decided to fly exclusively with Star Alliance now for the points... with the exception of last minute inter-Europe flights.

I seem to recall watching a program on National Geographic called "moments from disaster", it was basically about an Air Transat plane, yeah it ran out of fuel, and thanks to some heroic piloting it landed in the Azors...but they come out looking pretty damn dodgy, I'd use Zoom or just Air Canada.

You can always check out user-opinions and professional ratings at http://www.airlinequality.com/. It's a UK company which goes out and tests the quality of airlines and also allows for user input. Here's the user opinion page for Air Transat.

You get what you pay for. Transat are cheap & cheerful. I've flown with to Calgary & Toronto and never had any problems.

If you are tallish make sure that ask for a seat near the emergency exits as they have a lot larger legroom. The normal seats are pretty cramped & there's not a lot of space.

The food is lousy though - but that's airline food I guess.

Overall, Transat are decent & the choice if you are on a budget.
