Nestlé is voluntarily pulling one batch of a popular baby food from the shelves after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a food alert.

Consumers should not use one production lot of Nestlé Baby Rice Cereal – Add Breast Milk or Formula, said CFIA and Nestlé Canada Inc.

The warning is for the 227-gram product with:

* UPC code 0 65000 12516 0.
* Production code 42670742A1 (located on the top of the box in the right corner.)
* Expiration date: 2006 MR 23.

The packages may contain pieces of plastic that could cause injury, although none has been reported.

No other sizes of the product, which is sold across the country, is affected.
