i'm currently using gmail but does anyone know any better "free" email services on the web?
I think gmail is probably the best online email service presently available. The other big ones, like Hotmail and Yahoo!, are pretty good too, but many people complain about their Hotmail accounts being shut down for not logging in at least once per month.

Otherwise, there are thousands of other email services available that may appeal to people who want a particular theme. For example, people might want a Canadian-themed email service, so they might like one from canada.com. Or aerospace enthusiasts might like an aerospace-themed email address, so they might like rocketscientists.ca (Canadian too, actually).

Myself, I have about fifty email accounts with several different services, so I have gotten a pretty good feel for many of them. I use a different one for each e-newsletter or forum to which I subscribe. That way, if I start receiving a lot of spam at one of the addresses, it is easy to narrow down who is spamming me or who sold my address to a spammer.

On a related note, I recently came across a list of twenty temporary and disposable e-mail services for avoiding spam:

No, kludgy and slow has to do with the convoluted way you have to manipulate all of this. It takes several steps and hunting around the computer to find and move the files and mailboxes.
Why don't you grow up. You're pathetic. You don't even understand what you're talking about.
Do a search of *.pst files if you want to move them manually.

There is always the File -> Import and Export in Outlook.

I've never had a problem moving mailboxes and settings from one computer to another with Outlook. It's actually quite easy.

I use Outlook 2007 for my ISP mail and Yahoo Mail for my online accounts. Although, recently, I've noticed Yahoo Mail is slow to startup because it always tries to log me into chat.
