Has anyone downloaded the messenger live beta version yet?

I have it installed and I am testing it out with a friend, but I am trying to figure out what the major differences are from the previous version.

I am noticing that when I type or receive multiple lines to text in the conversation, it is all piling up in the same "______says" line, which is eliminating alot of the conversation clutter.

I haven't figured out the new tabs on the side yet, and I am not sure if you can delete some of them.

Also the contact list is very large, and contains every email addy (with messenger link or not) that I have in my address book. I want to know if that can be cleaned up?

Any help would be appreceiated....thanks.

You should be able to clean it up just right click on the email address and it should say delete contact and click on that. That's how I've alway deleted them, it just deletes them from the messenger list, but keeps their email addresses in your address book.

I have, and I am quite happy with Windows® Live Messenger.

The interfaces used in the new version tend to be, in my opinion, much cleaner; I like the premise of the new Shared Folders system, and the new Windows® Live Scanner is quite a good add-on to ensure that viruses and the like are not propagated through transfers. It appears as though they are going to make it easier to manage third-party add-ons using Live Messenger, too.
