Is there anyone here that can help me? I'm trying to take a slide show I created for and burn it to a DVD that will then play in a DVD player (I have pictures and music both embedded in the .pps)
Thanks.

You should be able to find something on videohelp.com if powerpoint2dvd doesn't work. That site has tons of info.
Good luck.

I worked really hard on this slide show. It has 110 slides, all but about 10 are photos and then I added 4 songs... all strategically placed in time with the chronological flow of the photos and then realized that the person that I'm doing it for wanted to play it in their DVD player, not their PC. So, I'm scrambling.

I will check out that site.... First glance looks promising. Again, much appreciated.

Let me share my expirience with you.

After converting many PowerPoint presentations, I have yet to find an application that combines all the features I want into a package that's priced in a budget that makes sense for most projects. The plug-in solutions generally copy most parts of a PowerPoint slideshow while failing to capture some transitions and completely bypassing any imbedded video, which is what makes screen recording an attractive alternative. For the best in class for the plug-in solutions, the Presentations to Video Converter app does the best job I've seen for a fairly pricey $199. One advantage to this app is the ability to convert PPT slideshows with or without PowerPoint installed on the converting PC.
And also there is feature to burn PowerPoint presentation to DVD, which is fery useful now for everyone.

Just search Google and you'll find some great tools can burn pps to DVD.
Such as Wondershare PPT2DVD which enables you to convert PowerPoint to DVD with DVD menus and control the playback with a DVD remote control. It is absolutely the most professional PowerPoint to DVD conversion tool.
Get it here: http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com

If what you want to do is just a data back up, and you don't need to play your PowerPoint with a DVD player, common burning software is enough and No matter it is a CD or DVD. DVD disc have more space compare to CD.
If you want to watch PowerPoint on TV with a DVD player, here some aspects you need to pay attention to:
PowerPoint does not have the built-in ability to save presentations as video files or other video formats such as DVD-Video and, even if it did, there would be significant loss of interactivity (because DVD-Video and PowerPoint slide show have very different capabilities in this area) and loss of visual fidelity (DVD-Video resolution is less than typical computer display resolution and most television will not render colors the same way that a computer display will).

The only way to do this is to get specific PowerPoint to DVD software.

the other option is to use Windows Movie Maker but you would have to start from scratch and insert all the pictures onto it. I believe Windows XP and Windows Vista came with this free software so you probably have it. You click on Import Media and select the pictures you want (press Ctrl to select individual pictures). You can then use the Auto Movie button to add credits, music and transitions to your movie. Then burn it to DVD.

Thanks.
When all else fails, do what I did. I set up my Sony DCR-DVD103 mini cam on a tripod and recorded the PPS of my grade school reunion right to the mini disk in the camera and then burned copies of the show to regular size DVD-R. I then distributed the copies to 42 alumni and they thought the show was great. Everything works fine until the phone rings.
