Get this- I wanted to get the synopsis of the episodes of season 2 of "Dead Like Me" to figure out which ones I had missed. So I said to myself "Self, let's go to the Showtime webpage and check it out." So I Google it (because http://showtime.com is a website for traveling and gettting tickets to like broadway shows) and low and behold I get the following message:

I ALMOST FELL OFF MY CHAIR! I pay money every month to subscibe to the movie networks that show their shows and I can't access the webpage because I'm not in the US!! Somebody help me find a phone number or e-mail address for these people!

Are you going to call them to complain that you can't use their web site to figure out which episodes to download?
It's probably just a licensing issue, where The Movie Channel or whoever shows their stuff wants to force you to go to their web site instead of showtime directly.
Someday maybe I'll bother to check it out through a proxy, just to see what they're hiding. Maybe it's invasion plans to steal our water!

isn't Showtime called Showcase in Canada? It's been so long since I have watched television (lol .. movies are my source of entertainment)
Anyways, I'm pretty sure that anything you want to find for Showtime can be found by Canadians at http://www.showcase.ca
However, I do think it is stupid to have a website ONLY for Americans.
