Hi, I'm looking to replace my Sympatico service with (probably) Access Vantage and buying my own modem from eBay. can I hear from anyone who has done this? What modem did you buy, any problems, price?
I intend to add a router later.
Thanks for any help - great forum.

Any "G.992.1 and G.992.2" compatible modem can be used (GVC, Efficient Alcatel etc). External Ethernet based modem is the most important part.

Well I know here Telus is charging $299 but $200 of that you get creditted to your account as a DSL ONLY credit. So if yer not happy with the service after a month, well you dont get the $ back. Don't know how they are really getting away with that legally, but I know a lot of people who tried to switch, but once they couldnt get their money back stayed with telus dsl.
