Ok all is happy in iMac land for ole Willie here.

except for the ole willie part...it really is old..how women still look at it and say they want i dunno?

anyways Cliffy You Da New Man...ya helped me...

thats good.

It's all working fine .
It was the HP printer software screwing with it.

i deleted that folder to the grimace of a Apple forum adviser...he said i should have uninstalled...oh well..it's back installed and working fine. gazillion updates and a new fangled way of asking it to do things...sort of like Viagra.

A question ...how could he tell from some weird numbers in my console thingy that i had more problems than i realized but for sure the HP printer was screwing everything up.

he had me clear console... restart and copy paste about 25 lines of script.

everything had sort of ip numbers to the line...they is all gone..

so he mentioned HP printer...

you mentioned the whole repair disk softboot shuffle demon...hey remember them shuffle demons..

repair disks and restarts and shutdowns and soft boots....thats the ticket eh...

If i sound like I had a few ...i have...Hey it's Easter , there is a tad bit Irish in me and they love a wake...or waking from the dead thing...meh...same diff.

It's just one of those things like disconnected phones or cellphones with no sim being able to still call 911.

Big brother is too cool for words.

Apple has a direct line to the heart of your computer when you are talking to them. Not sure if they are able to that at other times. Those techi dudes know far more than I about the inner workings of the OS than us mere mortals.
