In order for a marriage to truly succeed, there must be trust and willingness to be open with one another. The gift we bring to our partner is our own self. It is a gift to be offered openly and willingly Obviously this gift of self must be offered, not forced or taken. Once offered and received, and reciprocated, truth and love, with God's constant blessing, begin to grow and sustain the couple in the marriage.

Ok in my christian ed class, we are studying marriage and how god plans it out for us, and how he wants certain things for us right.
well i was given the following scripture to study,
Amos 3:3
"Do two walk together

Can someone tell me what it means, related to marriage and finding a mate please?

well it is gods will for us to save sex for marriage. So thats why we get married, and both have to decide to walk together, for it says in the bible that once u marry, you become one flesh, and i believe thats when u give eachother ur virginity by sleeping together.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating premarital sex, merely pointing out that there are different ways of interpreting things.

But like you said, there are many ways of interpreting things, and thats just how i personally look at it.

But there is much wisdom in the Bible, quite apart from its overtly religious content. Whoever wrote that stuff knew a lot about human nature, and it well behooves us to think seriously about the questions it asks.

Becoming one flesh, Biblically speaking, refers to the marriage itself. In other words, to two separate people becoming one unit, one entity, one couple.
What was two is now one, one being if you will. Two hearts beating in harmony together. that is the intention of "one flesh".

You are right, it is one of the benefits, but God gave us "sex" for more then just pleasurable feelings, there is alot of logic and meaning behind it. And i'm not saying getting married is all about the "sex". Not at all, i agree with what you said above, getting married in walking as one in harmony, you nailed that above very well. Thats exactly how i think of it too...i'm sorry if i misjudged you with what i said above, but its not that marriage is all about the sex.
I seriously hope you think again about why one gets married. It isn't to have sex. That is one of the benefits, but not the intention, of marriage.
