quote="Finder"Crusade, I'm not sure if your vision is somewhat Chrsitian Socialist or what but it sure does sound like it......

Nothing to do with socialism. As i'd mentionned before, I admit taht my ideas are changing radically right now. So I'll talk about what I was thinking when I first started this thread:

1. I believed (and still do) that all laws (whatever those happen to be I'm not so sure anymore) come from God.

2. I believed (not sure anymore) that the bible was the ultimate sourse of those laws. I still believe 100% in the spiritual teachings of the Bible, just not the social teachings of either the OT or NT.

3. I was frustrated with the hipocricy among Christians (since I was, and maybe still am in spirit, a Christian) in relation to their mixing the teachings of their faith with nationalism, racism, etc. and so thought should people turn to the laws of the NT totally and without reserve, then since there is no mention of borders, but rather latting our light shine on the WORLD, that all these artificial borders, be they national, racial, etc. could disappear.

As for socialism or capitalism, I see both such systems as being spiritually bankrupt in that they both deal with nothing more than material solutions to things. Immagine a world federation founded upon Christianity, in theory, if people accepted. It would give us a common culture upon which to build and unite our hearts and souls as one human race. Mankind united under capitalism, on the other han, would do so not out of true love for humanity, but only for profit. Socialism would keep food in everyone's belly, but again, everything would be so impersonal and depressing in this world, who'd want food in their belly? I admit however, that I suppose the spiritual teachings of any religions could achieve the same. the question, however, would be which social laws would be best to apply to such a society. Right now I'm exploring Islam (since even before comming to this forum but now more seriously) and bahai since machjo presented it to me. Anyway, that's where I stand on that now.

I wouldn't mind for borders to disappear, and peace and harmoney to rain on earth. But people will disagree with a celestrial organ of government rather then a seculer. Even during the middle ages the Pope even knew he could not even dream of a day when the Seculer order would fully follow his commends of the celestrial.

Perhaps we would have to start with a secular system first (i.e., we unite 'cause it gives profit!), and then work on the moral fabric of society afterwards while promoting Faith withour religious prejudice(akcnowledge the good in all religions). What ticks me off is the number of people who say they believe in religion in Canada. If true, then why all the bigotry? And why the current government policies dividing between "Canadian" and "Foreigner", etc. Heck, even Jesus would be rejected under current immigration regulations (can't speak either official language, and no money; he just doesn't meet the standards to be considered desirable )

I wouldn't agree with this kind of federation because it would separate people from others. We're all humans, if you believe in a religion, it's fine with me, if you don't it's ok also. If you speak English, French, German, Spanish, or if you white, black, yellow and why not blue, I don't care, but if you're somebody nice and have some valors, I will respect you.

Would I agree to a Christian Nation, not on your life. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Yes. A christian nation. I would like to see that. I propose Antarctica, rather than Canada for this new Christian paradise...Have fun, kids. God is watching out for you.

Cruisader...most frightening idea yet!!
reigion rules the world enough as it is, we don't need all the Christians to join forces. Like it or not, people are proud of their races and culture and would never give it up just to be labeled a "Christian". Besides, there's enough fighting within this "Christian" community in regards to beliefs and how to worship "god", that they could never get together and agree to rule and follow the same doctrines. Bad idea...and would NEVER happen.

If my understanding is correct, from other posts, christian is different from catholic. The christian nation would be done asunder by the god of the old testament.

The new testament would also give credence to “Mosaic Law”, I.E. would we all have to covert to Judaism? Then follow the Torah. Which then makes the term “christian nation under new testament laws’ an oxymoron.
