oh well, There's no point in changing how I live too drastically because it'll never really get paid off.
Are you trying to tell me that the Liberals, if they were in power, would have seen the country through the recession without a deficit?
Really, and what sort of magic would they have used to pull of such a feat?

I'm no economists but facts are facts.
Well, for one thing, there was no separatist coalition. The Liberals were not separatists. The NDP were not separatists and that was
the majority of the coalition. The Bloc simply agreed not to vote against them. I hope the Liberals would not have spent billions bailing
out American auto makers which is where most of the money went.
Those parties would have demanded paying off each others special interest groups. Instead of 1 party in power doing that you would have three.
All the free trade deals and the current policy of government created the
deficit and the recession in the first place. Conservatives, Republicans
were the purveyors of the recession.
The last time the Conservatives were in power during lyin' Brian's time
also produced double digit deficits some years ago. The Liberals and
God knows I am not crazy about them did clean up the Mulroney mess,
and now its Harper's turn. These are the Conservatives who promised
to get spending under control.
Lets be clear however, the Liberals balanced the books and cut the over
all deficit, by stealing from various accounts including the Employment
Canada reserves. You know insurance money workers and companies
paid into. They robbed Peter to pay Paul.
The government has been wrong about the deficit, the recession and the
recovery, which is a long way off. In fact Flaherty, is warning recovery is
slower than expected. They knew this a long time ago. The problem is
their promise is worthless, they have set a record for incompetence.
