The party of slain Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto wants the United Nations to investigate the assassination. Bhutto, of the Pakistan People's Party, was killed in a blast at a rally in Rawalpindi on Dec. 27.

President Pervez Musharraf announced Wednesday that Scotland Yard would probe the incident. On Thursday, he admitted he was not "fully satisfied" with his government's own investigation into her death. He said his request for British investigators to help local police probe the assassination was intended to dispel any suspicions about the involvement of government officials.

The party says "vague" help from the Scotland Yard team is not enough to reveal the truth.

The UN has said it is ready to help Pakistan investigate, but will not act without a request from Islamabad.
