That's fine if you get to vote for PM without having to vote for PM through a party which would be your MP.
It's ****ed.

In either system the "LEADER" of any party may suffer a humiliating defeat in his/her riding. Then comes the follow-up by-election by asking a legitimately elected member to resign and putting the LOSER in his/her place, in a so-called "SAFE" riding.

This is a system that spits democracy in the face, and no self-respecting leader/loser should ever accept. A losing leader should gracefully exit and the elected members should find a new leader from their own ranks.

Humility would be a bitter but great medicine for some egotistical politicians.

If you vote for an independent you don't get any vote for PM.

Our system isn't just ****ed, it's illegal and repressing.

The PM and cabinets members should be voted on by all MPs, not just the party with the most seats, or have a separate ballot for PM at the polls. Either way, it would lessen the possibility of a dictatorship like we get with a majority government in a FPTP.

A bunch of dorks tried selling some Bee Ess system alternative here in BC and it got on the ballot in the last provincial election.

It was so screwy that all the No side had to do was put the Youtube vid for the Yes side on their website for people to see how complicated and nonsensical it all was.

Of course then no one wanted anything to do with it and the idea died.
