The federal Conservatives of Canada are running for re-election and they are asking for another chance to lead this great country of ours.

If Canadians were to look at their record as a government, did the Conservatives keep their promises or break them?

When was their first chance?

They've been stifled by partisan politics since day one.

And their record is still better then that of the Liberals, go figure.

... And herein lies the problem for the libs.. All of their skeletons-in-the-closet have come out and people aren't forgetting that easily.

This election isn't about the Cons winning as much as it is about the libs minimizing their losses.

Stupid, Stupid - absolutely no reason for an election at this point in time! Hope someone pays dearly for this.

Contempt of Parliament had to be answered by an election if it was just the budget we would not be talking election because one of the opposition parties would get a deal

The power of government went to the heads of the Conservatives and they actually thought they were untouchable.

Ah go pound with that milarky!!

These are our representitives acting in the way they believe thier constituants would like them to! There are real issues that Canadians could benifit from, the issues they say being defeated are mearly crumbs when more is needed.

Many say what they offer is better than nothing, yet many still fall way too short!

The contempt of Parliament vote was a joke........

A condemnation of the minority government by the majority opposition on the eve of an election..........sorry, that called politicing....it is in no way significant otherwise.

As to your other points, the Conservatives deserve their FIRST chance to truly set the agenda in a majority government.

And they will most definitely be back.......as government.....be it minority or majority. The Count just shut the door on his only chance to be PM(a coalition)

And who determined the report that says the Cons were in contempt?

Oh ya, an opposition laden committee. Nothing like finding a predetermined outcome eh.

The power of government went to the heads of the Conservatives and they actually thought they were untouchable.
Like Cretien?

And the kneedippers are that source no doubt.

While others would simply give it all way, for the "little guy".

No wonder Layton is so in touch with the little guy, having spent all that time living in subsidized housing with ole Olivia.

I dont know yet, are these TRUE?

Ten reasons to oppose the Harper candidate in your riding | rabble.ca

In 1993, Mulroney's Conservatives chalked up a $38 billion deficit. By 2006, Chretien's Liberals turned this into a $16 billion surplus. Now, Harper has given us a $55-plus billion deficit.

To raise funds, the Tories promoted the HST, which moves the tax burden from corporations to consumers, increasing the cost of essentials like food and heat. The Ontario government has admitted that this will cost citizens at least $500 a year per family..

I think the way to answer your questions, is with some other questions here Johnnny,
like:

1) Mulroney's Conservatives chalked up a $38 billion deficit for what reason?
2) Chretien's Liberals turned this into a $16 billion surplus by gutting what? By
transferring this debt onto who's shoulders? How did they put themselves in
the position to claim that $16 billion surplus?
3) Harper has given us a $55-plus billion deficit for what reason, and at who's
insistence? Who pushed for this spending, in a minority government situation?

I'll leave these questions to be answerred by someone more knowledgable than
myself.

Geez.... How much mileage can you get from this tired-out spin? Harpo's been living in Federally subsidized housing for a few years now. Why isn't he in touch yet?

It goes to character. That's not to say that Iggy or Harper have any either.

But when someone is trying to sell a political leader du jour, they may want to examine their history.

How is "as it happened" preferential treatment? The housing thing was proven to be a Star spin on reality.

Dija know Bob Layton, Jack's father was a Lib-come-PC and a cabinet minister in Mulroney's regime?

Dija know Harper was a member of Young Liberals - until he was offended by Trudeau's NEP?

They all have skeletons in their closets - just don't rattle the bones....
