""Enough!

Enough of this collection of Alliance/Reform party members destroying the Conservative name!

Enough of Harper advertising that a coalition is bad, when He wrote then GG Clarkson suggesting his party was willing to do the very same thing!

Enough of these people - who are supposedly elected to do their best for us Canadians - and who shut down our parliament for two months - to save His own political skin - while we were facing and trying to deal with the worst financial crisis of our lives!

Enough of a governing party who tried to avoid bad publicity by barring the media from the Trenton AFB when our fallen soldiers were being brought home!

Enough of Him, who shut down our parliament a second time with a simple phone call to the GG and then - when a member of the press asked what was said during that call - had the audacity to instruct his spokesman to say "We don't divulge what is said in private phone conversations"!

Enough of a PM who refuses to face His general public via press conferences or fireside chats"! When was the last time - when did we ever - see Him stand up in front of the public!

Enough of a government who continues to reduce corporate taxes while claiming this action produces tens of thousands of new jobs - while the Canadian unemployment rate has jumped over 20% in the same time period of the three to four years of increasing corporate tax cuts!

And now! He, yes He, has dictated to a number of our government departments that they shall cease using the term "The Government of Canada" and replace this with "The Harper Government"!

If He is ever given an outright majority - God help us, God help the average Canadian wage earner, God help the disappearing Canadian middle class!

Enough!""

Don't know who this person is, but he/she has nailed it.
A question I would have is; will Harper respect the results of any election, or do a "hanging chad" thing a la Geo. Bush in Fla.

Provincially the Ontario Cons are trying to buy votes with the "promise" of "contemplating bringin back a 'buck a beer'"...........Promise to contemplate............good stuff............A sure winner.

Mostly we get the government we deserve, but NO ONE deserves a Harper majority.

I'm pretty sure there's another half a page or more of things that could be added to that list.... like the transfering of money between the provincial parties and the federal to gain more money over the other parties to better their position during election time...... or the actions made during the G20..... the Fake Lake?

How about the continual bickering between him and McKay over what colour our VIP planes should be painted, rahter then focusing on more important things like job creation and trying to improve the health care system?

What about how all that wonderful stimulus money went to more conservative supporting communities and ridings then any others?

Jeez, there's so many, it's hard to keep track of all the lies, two-face contradictions and corruption.

Good thing someone else did in 2010:
The Harper attack on Canadian Democracy, the long version
wmtc: the harper attack on canadian democracy, the long version

Quite a list I must say......

On that previous link I supplied, I found some interesting quotes from Harper..... one in particular caught my eye:

"If Ottawa giveth, then Ottawa can taketh away ... This is one more reason why Westerners, but Albertans in particular, need to think hard about their future in this country. After sober reflection, Albertans should decide that it is time to seek a new relationship with Canada ... Having hit a wall, the next logical step is not to bang our heads against it. It is to take the bricks and begin building another home – a stronger and much more autonomous Alberta. It is time to look at Quebec and to learn. What Albertans should take from this example is to become 'maitres chez nous'."
Stephen Harper, National Post, December 8, 2000

^ and this is the guy who fearmongered everybody into worrying about what Quebec might do in a coalition? Seems like he doesn't have any issues taking a few pages out of their book when it comes to his own province..... and uses a term that was coined around the time of the FLQ were kidnapping and murdering people..... and this is our Prime Minister today.

Here's a couple of other quotes of his:

"Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status..."
Stephen Harper, National Post editorial, 2000

"It may not be true, but it's legendary that if you're like all Americans, you know almost nothing except for your own country, which makes you probably knowledgeable about one more country than most Canadians."
Stephen Harper, Speech to the [American] Council for National Policy, June 1997

"Canada is a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it."
Stephen Harper, Speech to the [American] Council for National Policy, June 1997

"Whether Canada ends up as one national government or two national governments or several national governments, or some other kind of arrangement is, quite frankly, secondary in my opinion ..."
Stephen Harper, Speech to the Colin Brown Memorial Dinner, National Citizens Coalition, 1994

Yeah, this jackass should have a majority all right..... christ. He doesn't give a crap about Canada.... he only cares about himself, his thug party, and his own province.... in that order.

How own words, his & his party's own actions and all of the above linked incidences that followed him and his party prove this without a shadow of a doubt.

The sad reality is that Harper isn't wrong in what he said... You can pretty-it-up 10 ways to Sunday, but in the end, there is a dysfunctionality in the manner in which the provinces operate and the federal gvt propagates this through the diversion of monies to regions in order to buy votes.

Harpy and Conservatives are already cheating in the upcoming election campaign. None of the $ spent in their present character assassinating attack ads will be included in the election expense limits once the writ is dropped. So all their pre-election campaigning is in fact cheating.

They are so sleazy....In all my years I have never seen any other party pull such underhanded tactics... it gags me.

I love Harper for the fact that he has a minority government, yet rules like a dictator!

I wish a liberal/dem/green/anyone leader had the "nuts". I may hate every single action he has made while in power but I have to hand it to him, he really knows how to run a government.
And his attact ads work... I don't know on who, but polls show him going up. Of course the "polls" are land lines only and 30% or so of young adults no longer have land lines...

When does it work? All I've seen is the chuck and jive of someone with something to hide. I say can the partisan bullshyte and get on with the business of being a government.

Yep, that's exactly what Harper is doing, is getting on with governing, but the Libs have an ichy arse so they are planning to bring down the Government so they can be the ruling party.
