HST Consumer Wars
Like cigarettes years back when governments were heavily taxing it, the underground entrepreneurs will come to the rescue selling us products and services without the tax and buying under the table will be the norm until the government smartens up and stops the gouging.
I was listening to a radio talk show of the frustrated taxpayers who were naming different ways to stick it to the government like buying from the provinces that don’t have the HST like construction supplies and other high priced items.
Getting travel agents who are in different provinces and so on.
With the HST the provincial governments and businesses will suffer.
Now the businesses can pay part of the HST but eventually it will affect their bottom line.
The Consumers have drawn the line in the sand it’s now up to the provincal governments that brought in the HST to start to flip-flop before it’s too late.
