Boss Man Teneycke Tries To Redefine Canadian Political TV

http://www.thestarphoenix.com/entertainment/Teneycke+brings+Sask+perspective+news+channel/3180842/story.html

Kory Teneycke, newly appointed vice-president of development for Quebecor Inc, the owner of Sun TV has a plan or a vision that will bring sanity and wholesomeness back to the Canadian news by bringing in a Fox type channel with the Conservative slant.

Family values and American apple pie oops I mean Canadian bacon will bring the bible belt viewers of the prairies back to main stream.

Kory came out swinging on a recent CBC Power and Politics show with Even Solomon and Mr. Canadian Politics himself recently retired Don Newman.

Kory was successful in burning a lot of bridges that day when he said that both CBC and CTV political shows are boring and uneventful.

Kory has also said that most Canadian TV viewers watch American news like CNN and Fox.

Kory has been a paid political commentator on those two networks because he was a former front man for the Prime Minister himself Stephen Harper.

On the many times that I watched Kory he was a scrapper and did not take anything he did not agree with and fought back with the intensity of a well seasoned boxer and tact is not one of his strong points.

A good example is when being interviewed on CBC about his new job at Sun, Don Newman asked Kory a question to which Kory snapped back It’s because you don’t like me.

If Kory can make Sun TV into a success story he has a great future ahead of him and the other two networks will try to copy his winning formula and if he fails Kory will be thrown to the wolves because broadcasters are a heartless bunch and it’s all about the bottom line.

Kory has until January 2011 to put it all together so he can bring decency back to the Canadian news

Kory resigned a couple of days ago before the launch of Sun TV.

I hope Kory can pick up the pieces of his life because his services will be in great demand because of new elections around the corner.

Harper likes the media types, sometimes .........

Other Sun News personalities who have joined the Conservative ranks include former reporters Kris Sims and Daniel Proussalidis. Sims is now director of communications for Veterans Affairs Minister Erin O’Toole, and Proussalidis has the same position with Defence Minister Jason Kenney.

The Conservatives criticized that kind of career move in a fundraising letter last year, when former CTV reporter Colin Horgan joined Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau’s team as a speechwriter.

“This will tell you everything you need to know about how the Ottawa media will treat us in the next election,” the letter read

Former broadcasters Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallin and Jim Munson were all appointed to the Senate in the last 15 years, as was former Montreal Gazette editor-in-chief Joan Fraser.
