Tho the reason for the Conservative to do is lame and are trying to cover up or stall on something , it is all with in the way things are set up and so the whining about it ..........useless.

Indignation or indifference?
Mostly irritation. With media coverage that seems to suggest it was somehow illegal, which it's not, it's a perfectly normal and legitimate way to end a session. With Liberals trying to claim the moral high ground as if this were some outrageous ethical failing on Harper's part, which it's not, it's just political opportunism and they've done it too. With our political system that allows so much power to be concentrated in the PMO; I think a better idea might be to have the MPs choose the PM after the House has been elected. That would mean they could also remove him and pick another one without the government falling. And with Harper himself for doing it, in what I perceive to be a pretty high handed and cynical move to shut down a committee investigation he didn't like. I'm feeling increasing sympathy with some graffitti I once saw spray painted under a bridge in Saskatoon: Don't vote, it only encourages them.

hmmm that's an interesting Graffiti. Wouldn't that be cool tho If in a county or riding election that there be a cut off perecentage of voters needed to make that election valid? Lets say it takes 60% of eligible voters for that county or riding to make it legal. That way by not voting we are seriously giving a message.

Overindulgence in abuse of power coupled with deception on prorogation and bad red unnecessary ink, being that the Federal Liberals had handed the state of the Canadian economy to the Conservatives back in 2004 election after Paul Martin, in a far better state, then the Liberals will receive it back soon drainage in bad economics (RED INK).

That will take the Harper Conservatives into an irrelevance zone once again. Harper has taken Canada down the wrong path and Harper in the last election campaigned with deceptive elusions.
31% of the popular vote doesn’t have the power to stop the business of 69% of the Canadian voters,
Harper prorogued in the middle of unfinished business that will have soon real serious implications with respect to shutting out the W blower of the detainee torture allegations.

Lets give Harper a majority to see what real THUG POLITICS IS ALL ABOUT.:x

If no one cares why did it affect poll numbers negatively for the Tories? Not a move Harper is likely to pull again....at least in a minority.

You do not stop parliament in order to stop questions when in fact the answers are very damaging politically to HARPER AS WELL DAMAGING FOR CANADA MOVING US UP ON THE TERRORIST SH!T .
No it is not normal, to stop parliament because of a cowardly approach to serious politics. Not childish politics, SERIOUS POLITICS IS WHAT HARPER CAMPAIGNED ON, HE HAS DONE THE OPPOSITE.

Hey Risus good to see you again,

Well, look at what happened to the Liberals they got voted out in 2004, what makes you think Harper should stay in power and get a majority because he is worst then Chrétien .? At list Chrétien left the Country in a far better position then Harper will. So where do we go from here?:p

One thing you seem not to realize is that the world economy took a big kick in the butt a year ago. Of course things look rosy when the economy is booming. That said our economy IS on the rebound...

Chretien didn't have a recession to deal with, Stephen Harper does.

Good day to you Mowich,
Chrétien and Martin both worked hard to get red of the bad Federal ink idiot Mulroney piled up on the back’s of Canadians did you forget that?

Any one who thinks that Harper politics is good for Canada, must love red ink an a thug PM.

A PM who, come next election not only will be voted out off office, but the Cons will turf Harper due to his dismal performance in the past 2 chicken little terms (minority terms). The polls are sending a clear massage although election time is not here yet.

A report I read this morning claims more than 40% of Canadians are not happy with this proroguing of parliament, calling it an attack on democracy. But due to apathy they chose to remain at home when the protests were called a few days ago.

Here's the link.

With the Conservatives slipping in the polls we could potentially end up with a Liberal minority government in the next election. Now that Harper has stacked the senate on the conservative side, we the people will be held hostage once again due to political maneuvering and their insatiable lust for power.

As always, the politicians have conveniently forgotten why they are in Ottawa in the first place.

Sadly this is true , there's not one party there that does.

My thoughts are few and not very frequent. I seem to be flogging the same dead horse, when it comes to politicians- to break it down roughly 45% love the Government, 45% hate the Gov't, the other 10% like me know what they are like- just about exactly like the other parties who would replace them if they could and carry on with their snouts in the trough and their hands in our pockets. It's healthier to try and get a chuckle out of the situation than to stew about the perogies.
