I understand that the comment was made privately and Raitt's personal aide had left her recorder on and then the billy sitch left the recorder in a public can. Someone found it and phoned her to come and get it. A looooooooooooooong time later, the aide went and got it back.

What it really shows is no issue, topic or crisis is beyond being used for partisan one-up-manship.
All our politicians are guilty of this, however the Conservatives seem to be more callous about it though. (I know- I know - blinders....)

Really, who cares if someone is far more interested in making a career move than sorting out a crisis. Does it really matter if they try to cover up after the fact?
One thing for sure that we do know, the Conservative Coalition would never make hay out of something like this if they were in opposition. Surely they would be busy offering up great ideas in the House to turn this plummeting economy around and getting funding to the provincial and municipal governments to get people working again.

This event exposes Raitt's lack of character and self serving nature. Should teach us all a lesson. Don't say stupid things and if you're not that bright then just don't talk at all. Isn't there an issue about who is paying this personal aide's lawyer bills? I don't really care what anyone says normally but you can't ignore it once its out there.
