When Reform/Conservative Mike Harris was running the province of Ontario he amalgamated six cities to make it one city of Toronto.

At the same time he downloaded a lot of provincial services to the city and uploaded the education for Ontario to take care of.

Mayor Miller of Toronto is claiming that there is a shortfall of seventy-two million dollars and has decided to sue the government of Ontario for that money.

A lot of cities around the country are looking at this and this will open a floodgate of lawsuits in the rest of Canada.

One important note the province of Ontario gave Toronto special status of creating the city of Toronto Act so that the city can charge extra taxes to the people that live and work in the city.

Mayor Miller will learn an important lesson that the this province can give and take away anytime they want and the city of Toronto Act might disappear and the mayor still has three more years in office.

There are townships and communities across Ontario still miffed at the Harris perfidy. It's not just Toronto that was muscled.

It's obvious Canada has become a top-down democracy. People are tired of being dictated to by their "representatives."

definitely our political system, and how we run "canada" needs changes forsure. I'm sure that won't just happen over night either. Politics are just one of those kind of things thats very hard to understand and make the citizens "all" happy.
