In the news, Stockwell Day is announcing an Amnesty for long guns owners/holders . There is no vote, and so the Gun registry isn't being disbanded as such. This is only about long guns. Stock says hand guns are still going to be registered.

Aside:
Stockwell Day is well stocked up with GunStocks not woodstocks, but they mostly are Wood Gun Stocks.

---------The main story:

Global Gun Marketing:
"Arms control", rather that gun registry, would be a much more effective way to save lives. This refers to the corporate equation of selling more guns than last year to keep shareholders happy.

The Global Arms Trade is out of control.

Amnesty International says:
Lack of controls on the arms trade is fuelling conflict, poverty and human rights abuses worldwide. Every government is responsible. The Control Arms campaign is asking governments to toughen up controls on the arms trade.

K -
So, once again we see that we have been purposely sidetracked into arguing over your gun and my gun [gun registry], when the real problem is selling guns in bulk.
And once again, we see that it was done this way to protect corporate profits rather than innocent people. Guns make killing too easy, too sudden, and without doing much planning and without time for contemplating what you are about to do.
Thats domestically, but within war zones guns have been made available to people who would not normally have access to them. Various factions get guns given to them by warmongers and Provocateurs.

Its often just a way to get the poor to kill each other, so the Elites won't have to do it.

Oh Baloney!

This is so much crap.

Look at the news reports out of Africa......do you see Colt, Ruger, Springfield Arms, Remington, Smith and Wesson, Olympic Arms, Para-Ordnance, or any of the other major western arms manufacturers represented among the weapons used by the militias, the child soldiers, the terrorists?

NO!

What you see are Kalishnakovs, the ubiquitous AK-47, and AK-74s, with a smattering of obsolete, no longer produced FNs.

The AKs are NOT made by some profit-mongering, blood-stained capitalist pig, but are produced in the socialist paradise of the old USSR and China. In the Sudan, arms are supplied by China.

So you should really retract your statement, in full.
