Trudeau government revoking citizenship at much higher rate than Conservatives

The Trudeau government used powers granted by the Harper government's controversial citizenship law to make 184 revocation decisions without legal hearings between November 2015 and the end of August. About 90 per cent of the decisions resulted in a negative finding and the loss of a person's citizenship.

The numbers show that the Trudeau government has used the law far more aggressively than the Harper government itself.

But in a Federal Court filing late Friday, the government said it would not grant a moratorium on revocation cases, and added that claims by some that the system was revoking large numbers of citizenship are speculative.

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau made the sanctity of citizenship an issue in last year's federal election.

"A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian," Trudeau said in a leaders' debate three weeks before storming to victory.

In the first full month of the C-24's operation, June 2015, only three revocation decisions were made. None were made in July or August, two in September and two more in October.

The Trudeau cabinet was sworn in on Nov. 4, 2015. That month saw 21 revocation decisions. The following month there were 59. The year 2016 averaged 13 decisions a month up to Aug. 31, the latest data CBC News has been able to obtain.

So basically if you're a convicted foreign born terrorist or traitor to the country you get to keep your citizenship, but if your parents lied on your entry documents when you were a little kid you get the big boot. Unless of course your last name is Monsef, then you not only get to stay, you get to keep your nice, cushy Trudeau appointed govt position.

Nice to see the f*cking idiot man-child wanting to keep dangerous people in Canada while booting those who, for the most part, have committed no crime whatsoever.

So your point is it was good when Harper did it and it's bad when Trudeaubama does it?

The useless Libs depend a lot on many of the Conservatives laws in order to operate their government.

Libs are so useless they can't come up with their own laws, they always have to depend on previous governments to do their work for them.
Ie how many free trade agreements have the Libs negotiated so far?? ANS; Zero, kinda says it all eh

ZOOOOOOM! Right over your head. Yeah, I didn't think you'd understand what's going on.
Fair point. I re-read your OP and see I made a mistake. You want Trudeaubama to revoke the citizenship of certain kinds of criminals, and he's not focussing on the kind of criminals you don't like.

How DARE he resist the will of Jinentonix! What does he think he is, Prime Minister or something?

Seems appropriate to have your citizenship revoked if you lied about past criminal activity.

I like that they're doing that. Good for them!

Well, it means that you may have obtained your citizenship using false pretenses. You have cheated at your side of the contract.
