Beware of the debt and carbon tax they said....

The Canadian economy added 44,000 new jobs in October, but the jobless rate stayed at seven per cent because more people were also looking for work.

Statistics Canada reported Friday that most of the jobs came from Ontario and British Columbia, which added 25,000 and 15,000 new jobs, respectively. Most other provinces were largely unchanged.

The numbers blew away expectations of economists, who had been calling for a decline of 15,000 jobs.

Here's how govt counts jobs. Part-time jobs are counted, although nobody can actually live on part-time. Then there's the temporary make work projects, like Ontario's turbine factories. The Liberals claimed the two facilities would create 1500 full-time jobs. The reality? Fewer than 100 people were employed full time between the two of them. The other 1400 jobs came from building the facilities, jobs that were only temporary.
So the real question becomes, how many of those 44,000 new jobs are permanent, full-time jobs? I don't care what wing the govt in power belongs to, someone getting hired working 16-20 hours a week at a McJob does not constitute a new job in my opinion. Neither are make work projects unless those projects are necessary like infrastructure repairs and such. While the work may be temporary, it is important and a worthwhile use of tax dollars at least.

Here's how Ontario counts jobs:

1- I look at a piece of paper
2- I pick up that piece of paper
3- I write something on that piece of paper
4- I spilled some coffee on that piece of paper
5- I pick up that piece of paper
6- I roll that piece of paper into a ball
7- I lob that piece of paper toward the waste basket
8- I call maintenance so somebody else can clean up my mess

Eight jobs! Call the papers!

Well, it's no sillier than the way Alberta counts jobs. Which is by counting empty houses in Newfoundland.

You'd best double check on that. Even Cannuck doesn't embarrass his silly *** as bad as you do.

When kids working went back to school? If they were in BC they could have scored one of the 4200 jobs at the new mega mall in Tsawwassen?
