And she's pretty hot.

Canada Now Has A Minister Of Climate Change

Words matter, and nowhere is that clearer than with Wednesday's unveiling of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change during the swearing-in of Canada's new cabinet.

Catherine McKenna, a human rights lawyer, is in charge of the renamed portfolio.

"Canadians expect their government to be responsible around climate change and addressing the impacts to the environment that we are facing," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said following the ceremony. "Canada is going to be a strong and positive actor on the world stage, including in Paris at COP21. That's why we have a very strong minister, not just of the environment but of the environment and climate change who will be at the heart of this discussion."

So she is responsible for changing the climate? How is her success measured?

And if you say she is hot, you should at least include a picture.

We should hope that the new minister leads by good example. All of the cabinet ministers must use vehicles that get very good fuel mileage and all large cars that are in the fleet of the government must adhere to this. This would include their personal vehicles. What about the fuel used to fly the government officials around the world? They can fly in commercial planes in a effort to reduce green house gasses. Lets see how they are going to attack this and place your bets on which way they will go. Can we start an online lottery to see which way they go?

The fuss and furor over climate change is a lost cause. Environmentalists are just peeing up the creek!
The truth of the matter is that our lifestyle will continue to pollute with noxious emissions.
Authorities pull the wool over people's eyes, make them think they are able to control pollution but they cannot control the main polluters which are petroleum emissions and manufacturing.
To be effective in reducing pollution we would have to restrict the use of fuel powered vehicles, from automobiles to planes, trains and ships. We would have to manufacture only the products that are necessary. Does anyone think those measures would be possible?
Nearly every product manufactured used petroleum in some form in the manufacture. We keep building bigger and faster vehicles and use them for convenience and pleasure. We keep flying around the world in pollution spewing airplanes. We use batteries for almost every appliance; how safe is the disposal of batteries?
I could go on and on about the pollution causing elements of our society but you all know what they are. No one would be willing to give any of it up so what's the point in demanding a cleaner environment?
"We have the technology to fight pollution", they say. But it was technology that got us into this mess in the first place.
The new Minister is to be pitied because she will run up against the same brick wall other environmentalists have and will be reduced eventually to either scamming the public or admitting defeat.

There are ways to reduce emissions that don't require additional technology.

Instead if paying vast fortunes to stem the tides, we should be investing in living with the change - unless the gullible want to throw money away to make the sun rise in the west

The best way to reduce emissions is to reduce consumption. If we try to reduce oroduction, someone else will step in.

Then the question becomes, how will we reduce consumption?
