and the hits just keep on coming.

VANCOUVER -- A Liberal candidate in Alberta is apologizing for comments he made on social media six years ago, saying he was under the influence of alcohol at the time after losing his partner in a car crash.

Christopher Brown made the apology Thursday after screen grabs of tweets showed messages using profane language, including derogatory language in reference to women.

In his written apology distributed by the party, Brown said after a drunk driver killed his partner, he became dependent on alcohol, leading to a "complete lack of judgment while posting on social media."

He said he isn't proud of this period in his life, but that the tweets don't reflect who he is today.

"complete lack of judgment while posting on social media."

More like his closet doors came flying open for the first time in a long time. Too little too late.
