for the pony fanboys:

It's as if a flower child from the 1960s wants to run the country.

First Justin Trudeau said "the budget will balance itself."

Now he wants to grow the Canadian economy "from the heart outwards."

What's next? A barefoot Liberal leader wrapped in a sarong, quoting from the Desiderata that "you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here"?

Will he next tell us "the universe is unfolding as it should?", which, come to think of it, is what Trudeau's late father said when, as prime minister, he lost his Liberal majority government in the 1972 federal election.

Then again, how surprising is it that a guy who thinks you can run a modern industrialized economy on the sun, wind and lollipops, also thinks he can grow the Canadian economy, just like the Grinch's heart at Christmas?

Someone tell him Dr. Seuss wrote children's stories, not documentaries.

Enough is enough. Leadership isn't about inane cliches, warm feelings and emoting.

It's about making decisions, often hard ones.

We already know about Trudeau's type of decision-making.

He'd send winter coats to the refugees ISIS is torturing, beheading, drowning and blowing up in the Middle East.

He mocked Canada's airstrikes against ISIS in conjunction with our allies like the United States as, "trying to whip out our CF-18s and show how big they are."

He joked that Vladimir Putin was mad about losing the Olympic gold medal in hockey to Canada and therefore invaded Ukraine.

He said he admired China's "basic dictatorship."

He said if Stephen Harper keeps winning elections, "maybe I would want to think about making Quebec a country."

Indeed, Trudeau is a one-man quip machine, which would be fine if we needed a stand-up comedian to run the country.

But we need a leader, preferably one that's all grown up.

Far too often, Trudeau comes across as a spoiled rich kid who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

One surrounded by too many sycophants and too few honest advisers not afraid to tell him when he starts to sound like an idiot.

Trudeau's qualified to be a drama teacher, not prime minister.

At a speech in Regina today he says be will create more jobs in SK improving the lives of the middle class.

With unemployment in SK at 4.7% he has his work cut out for him.

“This congressional Republican budget is something different altogether...It is antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and upward mobility for everybody who’s willing to work for it; a place where prosperity doesn’t trickle down from the top, but grows outward from the heart of the middle class.”
