Already? Political scientists are writing Trudeau off now? A little premature, no?

Kyle Olsen ‏@kylegolsen

@davidakin Would be nice if he had disclosed this, and the Straight had printed it: "He ran twice for the NDP" http://politicsrespun.org/author/prontzos/#sthash.Cp0qJlpH.dpbs …

I think that once Canadians have the opportunity to see Mr. Justin Trudeau M.P. (Papineau), the Leader of the Liberal Party, and the policies of his party laid side-by-side against the platforms of the Conservatives and the New Democrats, electors are going to realize very quickly that the best way to move forward and to advance Canadian interests is with the Liberal Party of Canada.

I would agree with the analysis, but, don't forget, the polls for the BC election showed an NDP victory, only to see the Liberals get elected again with a majority. That said, even if the Liberals do come in third, they may still give Justin a chance, because he's so junior.

The NDP lost the BC election with two words that shattered their dream
Kinder Morgan. Once Dix said he would act before the facts were in he
proved Christie right in the eye of the electorate and that was the end.
In Alberta the polls were showing NDP victories coming and most said
won't happen then they went to the polls and made it happen.
Polls are snapshots in time and the new ones feature much larger samples
than in the past. This election is up for grabs but if the Liberals lose their
hold on the power ring will come to an end for a long time to come.
For the NDP and the Tories they will be around longer than the Liberals

They picked him for the longevity factor.

As long as the Liberals maintain their position in the next election, they will keep him as the successor to Mulcair.

Trudeau's slide can be directly linked to his support of Harpers draconian Bill C-51 and there's no way for him to get out of that support now.

He's done like burnt toast.........

It was questionable to put him there in the first place. What interest (or knowledge) does he have of the West?

That should be in purple just in case someone missed the sarcasm.

Which was about the only sensible thing he has done since being elected leader.

The Liberal Party thought that by making Justin head of the party they would reclaim the mantle of leadership of Pierre Trudeau. What they ended up with instead was knock off of Maggie.. space cadet, flower child.. utterly inept and deaf politically. Once he totally blows this election.. his days as party head will be numbered.

That said i'm not sure the days of the Liberal Party.. and its old ploy of claiming the centre of the political spectrum is tenable anymore in a such a polarized political environment.. and in a nation facing cultural and economic disintegration.

The Liberals always prided themselves on being above ideology.. but its becoming apparent they also lack any ideas or solutions except in pandering to divisive demographic franchises.. feminists, pot heads, homosexuals etc. The Party's days could be numbered as well.
