over refusal to sign trans rights pledge

Good gawd!

The B.C. Liberals won’t be marching in Vancouver’s Pride parade next month after its organizers made signing a pledge to expand human rights protections to transgender and gender-variant individuals a requirement for participation.

The governing party says it is Pride organizers who have “politicized” the issue by linking it to a pledge that, among other things, would see gender identity protected under provincial human rights legislation. Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador as well as the Northwest Territories have added explicit protections to their respective legislation. Although a bill to do that at the federal level is all but dead on the order paper, the trans rights pledge in B.C. calls on provincial leaders to lobby the federal government to amend the Human Rights Code and the Criminal Code to increase protections for trans and gender-fluid persons.

“We will not be signing the pledge,” said Laura Miller, executive director of the B.C Liberals. “It’s not a human rights issue because transgender and gender-variant people are equal and they are covered under the B.C. human rights code.”

See when people have an agenda everyone must follow the line exactly. Free thinking isn't permitted and dissent is outlawed.
Should cancel their parade permit.

What do they want ? Equality or to be put on a pedestal ? Seems to me they want special consideration .
