42% of Canadian Muslims Admit Islam and West 'Irreconcilable'

Polls that received little publicity reveal over 60% of Christians and Jews in Canada think Islam and West at odds, Muslims agree.

Two polls that received very little fanfare were released late last month, and found that the majority of Christian and Jewish Canadians think Islam is "irreconcilable" with the West - it also found 42% of Canadian Muslims agree with that assessment.
The polls, conducted by Leger Marketing, were published in the Vancouver Sun and found 63% of Protestants, 62% of Jews and 60% of Catholics felt Islam cannot coexist with Western culture.
That assessment was shared by 46% of non-religious Canadians, and in a large admission, by 42% of Muslims who felt their religion cannot be reconciled with the country they live in.
A full 2,000 participants were questioned in the poll, and of them 500 were born outside Canada. The polling took place in 2013 and 2014.
"It’s quite disconcerting that our poll results consistently show about 60% of Canadians see the West and Islamic society as ‘irreconcilable.’ It puts you up against a dead end,” Jack Jedwab, vice-president of the Association for Canadian Studies that commissioned the polls, told the paper.
Jedwab admitted the threat perceived from Islam "is a huge blow to interfaith dialogue."
Also responding to the video was journalist Ezra Levant on Rebel Media. According to Levant, the high figures doubting Islam's compatibility with the West are likely higher in 2015 given recent attacks and the continuing rise of Islamic State (ISIS).

and because where large congregations of Muslims exist they try to bring about Sharia law.
This is true and a big deterrent to acceptance by most Canadians, but is it any different than Christians trying to change laws to suit their religious beliefs (abortion, gay marriage)?

the difference is the saud's willingness to give up their resources.

Their not willing to give up their resources. They're willing to sell at a price THEY decide on.

Nope. It's why I'm all for freedom FROM religion.

Back in the 40s we decided that being of Japanese ancestry was incompatible with being American. Led to one of the greatest national embarrassments in the history of a long string of national embarrassments.

Just a cautionary tale.

In Canada, Japanese in WW2 and German and Austro-Hungarian Nationals in WW1 were placed in concentration camps. Have they been rehabilitated yet?

See, that's the difference (if what you say is correct). Here it was not just Japanese nationals, it was also American citizens of Japanese ancestry.

If an all out world war were to happen with Islam, then I guess they'll leave, be moved, deported, or other. Can't really be judged or judge what hasn't happened yet.

I don't know. I'm not an authority on Canadian history.

Detaining or deporting enemy nationals in wartime is no big deal. Everybody does it. Detaining your own citizens, not so cool. We ended up officially apologizing and paying reparations.
