Translation: Nobody knows nothin': Conservatives/Liberals end 2014 neck & neck, Harper’s numbers improve Abacus Data

December 23, 2014 By Bruce Anderson & David Coletto

Download all the details The year 2014 ends with a tightly competitive race between the federal Liberals and the Conservative Party of Canada. The two parties are within a point of each other, (CPC 34%; LPC 33%).

The trend lines we see over the period since March should provide some seasonal cheer for Conservatives, who have gained six points over the last ten months. Liberal and NDP support is roughly the same in December as it was in March of this year.

Why didn't Analfloss post this?

Analfloss? Really???

but Walter, for some strange reason member 'Locutus' felt buoyed enough to create a whole thread on this single poll... the normal/traditional polling updates have been applied in the other thread... you know, the other thread that usually reflects upon 308 aggregate polling, albeit there are occasional single poll references there, as well. In any case, 308 aggregate polling does include that latest Abacus poll that has so pumped member 'Locutus'; as below:

If the tendency continues will have a conservative majority government next election.

You have a point.

The greater point being that polls mean nothing, especially ten months ahead of an election.

But, if you wanna pretend they are relevant, then they clearly indicate a slip in Liberal support, and a strengthening of Conservative support.

And you know that in the election cycle there will be debates......between Harper and Mulcair.......and Justin, who lacks the brains and the debating skills to perform well against either.

And he has written off any possibility of a coalition.

So, Conservative victory seems likely in 2015.

Only real question: Conservative minority or Conservative majority?

I like my 2015 Liberal candidate so far. I'll wait and see what the competition has to offer. Right now I have an NDP MP.

Trudeau has closed the door on a coalition? I must have missed that, but not a smart move on his part. The Liberals sitting in the middle would be in an ideal position to form a coalition with either CPC or NDP. Now I could see some Liberals leaving their caucus over this under the right conditions.

Hmmmm....seems the NDP are not turning their backs on a coalition........

Coalition in 2015? Maybe, says NDP Leader Tom Mulcair - National | Globalnews.ca

And we know Justin is a liar, so we must assume a coalition will be the probable result of a Conservative minority.

During the campaign, Harper should push the possibility hard.............make Justin disavow the possibility in the most definitive manner, make it politically unfeasible for him.

Someone mentioned the neck to neck characterization. it's perfect, these beasts are saddled with packs promised of delivery and ridden hard on the canvas track until they are wet and foaming, all for the entertainment of the gambling public. Glue bags the lot of them, dog food. The horse is insulted for in reality these are rats who are trained to press levers for tiny chunks of yum yums.

A liberal minority or a conservative minority would serve Canada well.

A Liberal minority would see Justin Trudeau as PM, with Mulcair as puppet master.

If that doesn't scare you, nothing will.

It would give Justin, the chance to learn. Or the chance for us to learn to not trust him.
Anything unreasonable would get the government overthrown.

I do not fear that.
