Prime Minister Stephen Harper's telegenic wife Laureen as much declared herself a combatant for the 2015 general election with a short but partisan, rabble-rousing speech in front of a 1,000 Conservatives Tuesday night.

The political press had already been tipped that Laureen would play a heightened role in the lead-up to the October's 2015 election, and Tuesday's speech, at an Ottawa hotel where the Conservatives were holding their annual Christmas party, appeared to fit in line with expectations that were raised earlier this year.

Good. She will give him a softer image.....and it might shut up some of the "progressives" who have accused her of everything from infidelity, to participating in a sham marriage, to being a not-so-secret lesbian.

Nobody hates an independent woman more than a progressive, if the lady in question happens to be conservative.

Adding a little personality can't be a bad thing for the Conservatives.

"Canadians know that our party is the best party, the party that consistently delivers. Canadians know that our party supports their interests and their families..."

I wonder if these people actually believe the stuff that comes out of their mouths. The only thing I can think of that the Conservatives have consistently delivered is budget deficits.
