Why Is There Always A Big Screen TV?

Cut off the money;
British Columbia First Nations are wasting no time in enforcing their claim on traditional lands in light of a landmark Supreme Court of Canada decision recognizing aboriginal land title.

The hereditary chiefs of the Gitxsan First Nations served notice Thursday to CN Rail, logging companies and sport fishermen to leave their territory along the Skeena River in a dispute with the federal and provincial governments over treaty talks.

And the Gitxaala First Nation, with territory on islands off the North Coast, announced plan to file a lawsuit in the Federal Court of Appeal on Friday challenging Ottawa's recent approval of the Northern Gateway pipeline from Alberta.

The Kwikwetlem First Nation also added its voice to the growing list, claiming title to all lands associated with now-closed Riverview Hospital in Metro Vancouver along with other areas of its traditional territory.
No, not their money. The Supreme Court's money.

Now the citiots can sit back and wait for the natives to perfect all the alternate energy solutions, finance them, then begin to solve numerous medical issues, along with homelessness and greed. Hongcouver will be wonderful, they must be so proud of reversing history.

I don't know what the right thing is, only that it would appear as though the more money we throw toward the problem the more some get rich and others live in abject poverty

Rainbow and unicorn energy funded by indoor marijuana grown with stolen electricty.

The "keepers of the earth" grow more weed than the HAs.

Now that they have title, lands used for criminal enterprises can be seized. Good thing no band councils are gang bangers or they could seize the whole kit and kaboodle right back into Crown hands forever and ever amen.

They truly f-cked themselves by accepting title.

Because X Box sucks on a CRT.

Want to solve that problem really fast?... Hand over the actual land title(s) to the individuals in the reservations and not to the 'band' as a whole.

Graft and fiscal abuse within those commuities will come to a screeching halt

.. And taxes. Let's not forget about the cost of ownership in terms of taxes, maintenance, road construction, etc.

This can be a huge opportunity to push these communities to finally stand on their own

Sucks to be them I guess.

It does and they cheered. Wait until they learn how section 27 of the NEB Act applies to people with title who try to refuse resource development.

This ranks right up there with accepting beads and whiskey when they sold land to HBC and NorthWest Company.

Stupidity and greed are a bad mix.

How far, inter-generationally, do you want to coddle this culture?

Guilt for?

It how the cash is utilized that matters. They can't say they were tricked or at an educational disadvantage any longer. Title to lands wraps them up in same laws everyone is in. No ownership just a usage title with limited surface resources and full public access FN or FW.

It's not "our land".

don't know...don't know what is right...just know the money keeps getting swallowed and it isn't helping who it needs to help

The existing system is broken, so broken that the money isn't even a band-aid anymore.

All that has been accomplished is to foster an enslaved culture that is losing it's will to stand alone
