Ontario to spend $29B over 10 years on transportation: Wynne

TORONTO - The governing Liberals are promising to spend $29 billion over the next decade for transit and transportation infrastructure in Ontario.

Premier Kathleen Wynne says up to $15 billion of the money will be available for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
She says the rest will be available to the rest of the province.

Wynne says they'll fund it by raising new money, re-directing existing revenues and debt financing, including green bonds.

She wouldn't say how they'll raise new revenue, saying the details will be in the upcoming budget.

Wynne says she'll re-direct the existing HST collected on gas taxes to the project, about $130 million.

Election spending .... bribe us with our own money.

Raising new money = more taxes in government speak.

Maybe with the EUFTA ON will have somebody closer to trade with like the good ol' days?

Now to come up with new products to manufacture to sell in the EU.

With two polymer factories in the west opening maybe ON can starting making crap out of Canadian plastic?

Plastic parts for Ski-Doos made in Mexico is a good start.

Hey; another opportunity for the Liberals to contract for a bunch of stuff then change their minds mid-stream, pay the opt-out penalties accrued in the billions, then decide to re-pave 4 miles of highway # 7 through Woodbridge/Vaughan and call it a day. Wonderful!

Hopefully they don't cancel 29 more gas plants.

Why? Spain not in the highway-buying business any more?

Wow - seems like the liberals are Ontario's worst enemy and the lack of interest or knowledge by the citizens of Ontario could bite them in the butt.

I'm just sayin....
