Now there is a great use of tax dollars. And the RCMP claim they are understaffed. They are not understaffed just unorganized and unable to prioritize.

What the hell is law enforcement smoking? That was my first question. Imagine
the war on pot has become so important we see police on snowboards chasing
young people to prevent them from smoking weed. At the same time there are
serious crimes being committed that no one is available to respond to. Even a
cop in this country who is going to on trial along with his wife for abuse of kids.
Where were the cops in that case? No cops period not even on snowboards.

I can just see, some hero on a snowboard busting a couple sitting quietly enjoying the scenery giving them a criminal record and then taking their stash home for his own personal use.

Cops are never drug tested so he doesn't have to worry about losing his job.

Hell yeah, they have to go out and round the stuff up for the Saturday night parties. They were always the ones you could count on to bring it. Not that I am complaining about that part of it.

Don't they have something better to do with their time???

Oh, god! This.

Seriously, where is the crime in this? Some people snowboarding and smoking? Who is getting hurt by this? It is arguable that they are even hurting themselves, and nobody is going to get arrested for drinking and boarding.

Vices are not crimes. Where is the mens rea? Strict liability offenses potentially carrying jail time are a mockery to the idea of justice.

Just found out today that a fella down the road from us has a $180K fine to pay for getting nabbed with 700 baby pot plants about 10cm high. Now, you may think that he was growing it for distribution, but if you saw him smoke up, you'd think twice about that assumption. His doobies are tobacco-sized cigarettes and he smokes them like cigarettes, like a pack a day sort of idea.
This guy is a carpenter about 55 years old, and might make $30/hr in a fairly seasonal job.
So it's quite likely he'll end up losing his home and ending up on welfare.

The whole legal thing about pot is supremely ludicrous. There's little, if any, sensible issues in it. You'd think the people in law were snuffin coke or something sometimes.

Its funny there is nothing like drugs to attract Mounties especially in Merritt BC
Good God this is actually as funny as the fools in the Senate mispending our
money on travel. The reason this is happening is the cops are being restricted
to snowboards
