As convicted terrorists face possible release, Canada faced with growing problem: how do you rehabilitate them?

Angered the Canadian military was in Afghanistan, Saad Gaya and Saad Khalid joined a terrorist group that plotted truck bombings in downtown Toronto. Caught in 2006, they are now imprisoned for terrorism.

But not necessarily for much longer.

Gaya became eligible for unescorted temporary absences in September, while Khalid will be eligible next week, which has some asking questions about what the government has been doing to help convicted extremists like them abandon their violent beliefs.

From the guilty pleas and convictions of the Toronto 18 ringleaders to the return of Omar Khadr from Guantanamo Bay, Canada is experiencing a bulge in the number of prisoners behind bars for terrorism-related offences.

Khalid was born August 12, 1986 in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents. Khalid moved to
Canada with his parents from Pakistan at the age of 8.

Saad Gaya (born November 17, 1987) was a first generation Canadian of Pakistani descent.

Both would have been Canadians, I'm assuming, so deportation wouldn't have been an option.

If they had not been tortured to **** during their captivity the task would be half of what it normally would be.
If they had not had loved ones killed for no reason the task would be half of what it normally would be.

These guys, arrested in Canada, some of whom can't be mentioned by name due to
their age (as their rights as young offenders are protected in that way) where
tortured in their captivity? I don't pretend to have knowledge that I don't, and
know little about this instance, but that sounds questionable.

Their targets where in southern Ontario, and not Pakistan or Afgahnistan, etc...
so their beef was with the citizens of Toronto, etc...?

Tortured to **** during their captivity where & by whom? Loved ones killed for no
reason where & by whom?

Oh c'mon Ron you know the schtick by now don't you?

Anyway, if all else fails there's always the fallback 'blame it all on the Rothschilds' plan.

Lead pill is the permanent solution. This protects the charter rights of all law abiding Canadians.

We all know that isn't going to happen. It isnt even on the table. Even if it was killing them tends to be what they want. It martyrs them and causes others to join these groups to take the dead guy's place.

I'm surprised that a lot of these guys were either born and raised here or spent most of their formative years here. One would think that a normal life here is far better than a short stint in a terrorist group which leads to their death.

So you would rather they be set free to murder a bus full of kids?

There is an alternate solution: It involves incarceration in the general population.

This also works as a solution to the Clifford Olsens and Karla Holmokas of the world

Send them to China .....just for practice.

From what I understand about the Chinese system of justice - they don't fool around very much there.

'Angered the Canadian military was in Afghanistan',
Does that define where and who was being abused so that they ended up getting the followers mention in the main part of the post. Had we (and our so called friends) were not there (for a bull**** trumped up charge) they never would have had a reason to join anything counterproductive. Having friend or relatives abused is a great recruitment event, look what 9/11 did for the American administration as far as getting public support. The same could have been had by promising cheap gas at the pumps, that was actually the argument that quelled all the negativity with the illegal invasion of Iraq. You have noticed that subject never comes up anymore, right?

No. I dont think they should be let out at all.
lol, good thing you don't have the reins in your hands. Goering your favorite historical hero?

....if all else fails there's always the fallback 'blame it all on the Rothschilds' plan.
This plan??? Course this guy associated with radical Americans like JFK, go figure.
Benjamin Freedman's 1961 Speech at the Willard Hotel (Complete) - YouTube

Why should law abiding taxpayers be forced to feed and house them for the rest of their lives?
You are assuming there are no crooks in Canada, we just don't go after the rich ones, you that ****ing naive?

Ahhh.....OK. I have some Irish blood in me, but I've never even thought of bombing
the city hall in Regina & beheading the mayor (of Regina, Sk, Canada) 'cuz we're
part of the Commonwealth and the English (British) where imposing their will in
Ireland in the '70's still when I was a younger man.

The two mentioned specificly in the O.P. (not the LINK's) had loose ties back to
Pakistan (not Afgahnistan), but all in the Apple Dumpling Gang where of the
same Religion, and many attended the same place of worship. Young maluable
minds being indoctrinated in the idiotic & cyclic nature of hate at this common
tie back?

I don't know, but the 'Angered the Canadian military was in Afghanistan' sure
sounds like a BS excuse 'cuz nothing else better was available at the time.
Maybe that's just me though having not attended this Mosque as a young
man, but that's just my opinion & not supported by any real facts, I guess.
