Obviously, the Mounties don't like the idea of competition, but I'm not too fond of them right now, so I'd recommend throwing the bums out.
Richmond is considering axing the RCMP.

Operating a muni police force is an expensive endeavor, but Richmond is big enough that it should have it's own force
Perhaps it can link up with Vancouver and Surrey to share resources in creating a local police force.
