poverty and funding for public services

Ontario is dead last in Canada when it comes to growing poverty, increasing income inequality and financial support for public services, says a coalition of labour and community groups formed last spring to oppose the province’s austerity budget.

The report by the Ontario Common Front being released at Queen’s Park Wednesday, aims to inform Ontarians about the social and economic issues at stake as the province begins drafting next spring’s budget, the group says.

It is a sobering backdrop to the ongoing dispute between the Liberals and the province’s teachers who are facing a legislated two-year wage freeze, they add.

“It is time for Ontarians — including our policy makers — to face the disturbing facts about inequality in our province,” says the report entitled, “Falling Behind: Ontario’s backslide into widening inequality, growing poverty and cuts to social programs.”

When it doesnt go thier way....the coalition of labor will bite the hand that fed them..... I absolutley LOVE this.....
Dalton will simply propose classes children who's parents work night-shift.... More teachers, and stroking lazy parents..... Another win.... Ontarion is a festering wound with the unions feeding off of the puss..

Maybe I can help. some parents work on weekends and have weekdays off. If we allowed schools to have different schedules so some schools could have different days off, then some parents might save on babysitters on weekends. I'm sure the unions will support that.

They said today on the radio that the eastern farmers were having a hard time and the western farmers were going to help them out as payback for when we had our drought.
So hay and feed is going to be heading east soon,we have lots, most farmers have thousands of round bails of last years crop piled up and this year is a bumper crop in the west.
Nice to see,Canadians helping their neighbours for a change.
The east helped us,now we get a chance to repay them for their kindness.

The only people reaping in the rewards and driving the gap between the upper class and lower are the Ontario teachers. They are quelching growth throught Ontario by streaming all the funds dedicated to infrastructure and health-care directly into the Unions coffers and thier own pockets. Its time to stop this "Industry" that is the Ontario education system. It is public racketeering and Dalton McGuinty is only assisting in everyone elses disparity. Ontario is the emberasment of the Northern Hemisphere..
