Rallying the kids

The Toronto District School Board's website extols the virtues of communist thug Che Guevara, on a dedicated webpage replete with a adoring painted portrait of the murderer of innocent civilians.
"With Che’s vision and the hard work of many people, today Cuba enjoys a literacy rate of over 99.8%…."
Hey, what is the public school system for, if not communist agitprop?
Humberto Fontova of Babalú Blog discusses the use of "Che" for leftist indoctrination in an interview with Sun News's Ezra Levant.

He was an interesting character. I doubt he'd like what has happened to his image over the years.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, kids don't know who he is anyway.

They all think his name is "Who's this guy?"

Exactly.

The school board should be absolutely ashamed for holding him up as a hero........he was the absolute enemy of western civilization, western freedom, and capitalism. He was a devout follower of the Marxist cult, and he fought to spread it, and he was a cold-blooded killer.

At the same time, the accusations of mass murder are completely off-base. They are simply unfounded. And yes, he was a medical doctor, and a fascinating character............a true believer, that honestly thought he was on the right side, and that lived his belief.

And was all the more dangerous for all that.

His death in Bolivia was inevitable, and necessary.

No need to smear him.

Though I must confess that I bought a Che Guevara wallet just for irony's sake.

I've said this before, but I actually heard (from my son) of a kid wearing the t-shirt that thought he was the lead singer of Rage Against the Machine.

Though I must confess that I bought a Che Guevara wallet just for irony's sake.

My father tore his poster off my wall when I was 16 or 17................and he was right. :)

Oh, and I knew who Che was.

Yah what a thug, when he killed civilians he was a terrorist, when American backed assassins did it they were freedom fighters.

Che was on the "wrong" side in a truly brutal conflict that still goes on in one way or another today.

Ahh...I don't expect a leftist to realize this.....but Marxism lost. It is pretty well non-existent in the world, even Castro publically stated it was wrong for Cuba.

Che was on the wrong side.

But the fight against Marxism is over.

How are Chile and Nicaruagua now??

Che was a reformer, a Dentist and a leader who led Cuba out of the grip of
the Mob who owned the casino's and used young girls as prostitutes. The
people could not read and write, they lived in poverty, while rich land owners
a class unto themselves who lorded it over everyone beneath them.
The revolution did not start out to be a Communist one in the beginning.
Castro came to America and Kennedy refused to meet with his representatives.
The Russians were only too happy to lend a hand.
Cuba has a good health system, a good school system and people although not
well off at all, are still better off than before the Revolution.
Lets see, western governments backed the leaders who were affiliated with the
Mob and the wealthy land barons at the expense of everyone else, so who were
the thugs again?
Che was not a very nice man I agree but the real criminal was Batista who they
overthrew. Let us not forget about the unmarked graves Batista and his government
left behind either. I am not a fan of Communism but I also know there is a lot more
to the conflict than they were bad and we were good, things don't work that way.

One of the best things ever to come out of Bolivia is the body of che. I won't put a capital on his name.

Che was a commited communist well before the Cuban Revolution.
So was Raul Castro, who committed some of the mass murders Che has been held responsible for......
Only Fidel played his cards close to his chest.......

Che was not a dentist, he was an MD.

Batista was slime.

There is lots of blame to go around......but there is absolutely NO excuse for a Canadian school board to be presenting Che as a hero.
