I had the same issue a couple of federal elections back with a Ralph Goodale sign.

I called their office to let them know that someone must have accidentally mixed up
addresses, and that they could come and retrieve their sign, so that they could
plant it where it belonged.

I was told that they had the permission of the home owner to place that sign on my
lawn, had no intention of removing it, and that if I did, it would be a criminal offence,
and the authorities would be contacted....& then I was hung up on. Huh?

Uhm.....I'm the home owner. Now I was somewhat upset, & called back, and asked
to speak directly with Ralph Goodale. Once they figured out who I was, they hung
up on me again. They must have had call display as, when I tried to call back
again (a few times) they'd just pick up & hang up immediately.

I disposed of the sign & emailed Ralph Goodale to create an awareness of the
behavior of the staff in his campaign office, someone else responded to the
email with their own email (Ralph doesn't, or at least didn't, respond to his own
emails) where about every fourth word was misspelled, little to no punctuation,
few capital letters at the beginning of sentences, etc...and it was not an
apology. I'm still waiting for Ralph Goodale to return my calls or email. It's
been several years now.....& the guy keeps getting reelected. I don't vote
for him myself.

I would have had a nice little bonfire with that sign. Also, I would have sent a letter to the local newspaper(or even one of the larger ones in your Province) outlining exactly what happened. I imagine that Ralph Goodale would respond to that.
