A FAQ is needed.

A FAQ is needed for CC. Many questions one sort of stumbles their way to, lots of them here for instance. Difficult for newbies to find answers in the threads here though.

A specific definition re: 'when is a moderator not a moderator?' is very much needed.

How does a member know, when posting to a thread that has a member who is a moderator also posting, whether the posts made by the member/moderator are being made as from a regular member or as from a moderator?

When the avatar of a member posting in a thread has "Moderator" below it, is that member to be regarded and responded to as a moderator?

If not, how would we know they're not moderating the thread?

It would be extremely helpful to have this confusing issue clarified in a FAQ.

[Later edit added] How do newbies know who the moderators are in case they need to contact one via PM?

Also, for instance, I still don't know what 'multi-quote' is for?

Confusing at the start as to how to: add attachments; how to insert images (where from as not from your computer?); how to insert videos, etc.

TIA

Just hit another one - the videos tag. Clicked on it, most confusing. Says I'm showing up as Bcool but won't let me do anything?

I just clicked on the video button and got a red screen saying it was off limits. Our system is hooked up to the school systems network and is regulated from Victoria. Usually they block stuff like porn. What is up with that? Is there stuff on CC videos that they consider unfit for student consumption?

Cliffy, I would bet the content filter from your school board is flagging the download section of the site, it's a common firewall trigger for most systems.

I can see how this would be a problem figuring out for simpletons.

When the moderators are doing the job that they have VOLUNTEERED for they generally post in green. Otherwise they are just another user. They also don't generally moderate their own threads.
