Re: Is all of Canada covered by current moderators?
Nov 6th, 2008Other than him though, the rest of the members strike me as too volatile (like Prax... that guy's crazy).

I don't still love him Kreskin... he crossed his line on the seat! He's touching me!!! He's looking at me funny!!! Da-aad! Make 'im stop!!!!!

Sorry karrie I must disagree because the question has never come up before. I doubt that your mentality and mine are identical, if they were that would be totally boring. I doubt that the moderators can see things from the point of view of some-one
who is at the scene of `whatever` and can comment or decide what is in the mind of the writer and I would bet you a buck and a half that they have no idea as to how Eastern Ontarioans or Quebecers think or perceive something.
Yet the membership is getting larger all the time and as I have read so many times `they cannot be every where at the same time`.
Ergo members get away with a lot. I noticed the other day that a member wrote that `moderation` was lacking and a lot of things went by without being viewed.
I respect the mods because it is a thankless job but allowing some thing that is counter to the rules go by is not acceptable.
An Eastern Canada/Atlantic moderator is needed.
Sometimes I cannot sleep and just read all the posts and threads and I find a lot of problems with them. But hey I am an insignificant member so it really doesn't matter.

LOL>... I always ask the kids "Do you want me to be so busy yelling at you that I drive us into a semitruck!?"

I think I see a point in what you are saying, although perhaps not the same point you're trying to make.
There have been a couple of threads, two of which I created recently, that blew out into personal insults and attacks on each other..... it would seem they were missed or the moderating of rules is slacking a slight bit to let things go on a bit longer.... I can't do anything about it because I only have control over one section.... a dead section I might add
But a point I can see about having full moderators from various parts of the country is Time Zone related. I can't say there is a need due to varrying culture or language, but if the majority of the mods are out west, then that means they are all in a similar time zone as one another, and while they sleep, a few hours earlier us here in the Maritimes are wide awake and causing all kinds of sh*t and the mods out west may not be awake to do anything about it until hours later..... and by that time, the entire situation could crumble into a pile of pixi poop.
Then again, if there is a problem, that's what the report button and PM's to mods is for.
*shrugs*
