Noticing lots of Spammers flooding forums

This is not a complaint the mods usually shut them down.

But I have never noticed this before.

Yesterday their was some idiot making posts on spam.

And now we have a current spammer wanting us to take a survey who is flooding the forums with tripple posts, etc.

Are we being attacked? lol

Never seen this before and now I see 2 spammers in 2 days!

Can't resist..best way to stop this spam is for you to stop posting;-) hah hah hah hah(joke)

I am just saying I notice people who join make 6 spam threads, and then get banned.

Andem has an anti-spam script that puts most of the spam automatically into a junk folder. Since he did that pretty much 90% of spam doesn't show up on the board.

How can you tell if its spam or not?

I guess if a post is duplicated multiple times?

If a new member and has links or multiple links (can't remember exactly the formula) the post goes to a junk folder for review. It can then be approved or permanently deleted. All of that happens away from the main board. It's a great script. The odd one still sneaks in.

there is this member who is a newbie, who is Chinese, who has awful English, who made this 1 thread and gave his email and phone number...
