If you don't 'donate' the requested amount 'they' will just use other means to make your life a lot more expensive than if you had just paid the extortion amount. PM Martin admitted as much in the 'Canada, our Sold out Native Land' when he was explaining why we no longer print our own money at cost rather than paying the World Bank $30B/yr to do that for us.
