If you look around any forest, any vacant field, anywhere, you will see a cornucopia of wild food just growing naturally and waiting for people to figure out what to do with it. Go to any library and look for books on wild foods and medicines. Food is everywhere, There is no reason for anybody to starve, particularly in BC. There is more than enough food to feed everybody growing right outside your door.

The European crisis is an impossibility in this free market economy cuz the debt is transnational, hello, are you there, yes that's right it's also very much an Canadian crisis. We wanted globalism and the international community well it's coming to our town.

Mushrooms. There aren't anywhere near the crops of mushrooms around here that there used to be since word got out there actually were mushrooms around here. Same for wild asparagus and a pile of other things. Even non-edibles like yew trees are scarce now.

And globalism? Just wait till fresh water is scarce on 7/8 of the planet. Economies won't be so important then.

Everyone knew the European crisis was linked to the banking situation in America and the
same risky packages that were sold by citibank etc, were sold to European Banks and the
financial institutions. In fact some reports had Greece's Economic situation tied to the fact
that 25% of its bonds etc, were covered by risky paper. That little item came out in December.
Iceland is broke, Ireland, Italy, Britain is in trouble, Spain, Portugal, Greece, and God knows
who else, Oh France we forgot about France. All of them are in so deep you can no longer
see their eyes and German is supposed to bail them out The fact is Germany can't do it all.
In addition China can't do it either because they have a whole series of looming problems
they have been disguising from the world stage and they are about to crawl out from under
the rug. America is going to feel the real sting shortly followed by us and the whole bloody
world.
Some on this board have suggested I am chicken little saying the sky is falling but we have a
huge unsolved mess, Japan went into recession a quarter of a century ago by doing the same
as America's financial system did. People are living in a dream world if they think the world crisis
is over, its in fact following the same route number as the last great depression. Things got
bad quickly and rebounded, skipping along until 1933 when the bottom fell out and 34 was not
too great either.
When are people going to wake up Harper did not save us he postponed the inevitable that
is all.

I wouldn't want to be buying a mortgage or a new car right now. I got rid of debt I had in
order to ride this thing out. Its coming a lot faster than people realized, but then its what
they notice. I have seen this mess coming since 2006, when the banks were lending a
mortgage to people who could inhale regardless of whether they had a job in America.
As W said everyone should be able to own a home, ya right.
It is said Canadians don't have the problem and that is not quite true. There are Canadian
banks that operated in the United States and they have all kinds of bad paper.
in addition there are some who have bundled mortgages in this country depending on who
they dealt with.
Bundled mortgages were sold all over the world, of course that is not what they are called
but then a turd may be crafted to look like a rose but it won't smell like one.

Maybe if they'd count actual eggs instead of counting on the eggs their chicken can theoretically lay....

Most of this problem was caused by circumventing the law, bending the rules and in many
cases outright fraud, but the theory of too big to fail is still around. Mind you if they hadn't
bailed them out the economy would have totally collapsed to a couple of decades only to
be offset by a good old fashioned war. Oh Iran is right there waiting.
No this isn't about counting chickens its about stealing from any one and every one and
then getting bonuses. Someone is going to pay but it won't be the guilty ones and that is
too bad

Nope. Damned near ALL of it is caused by greed and crony capitalism.

When the economy collapses, who is going to be collecting your worthless mortgage payments? There will be nothing to buy food with. Grocery stores will look like downtown Moscow in '99 and you may have to kill someone in the lineup to get anything for you weekly meal.

The economy will muddle along. The world will take a $700 billion loss, but that's just 1% of the total economic output of this planet. As for Canada, the latest projections by the Bank of Canada is that we're going to see 2% growth this year and 2.8% next year.

Here is something to think about. President Obama is thinking about allowing our interest rate to rise if it rises even 1% it would destroy the Euro. Something new to think about President Obama.
