A group of Target employees in Victoria, B.C., bid farewell to the store in epic fashion, while performing the Semisonic song Closing Time.
Evan Holbein posted a video to Facebook on April 12 of three employees performing the hit song while two other employees pull them around the store on a flatbed cart.
The video was filmed in a single take and Holbein, who plays makeshift drums in the video – using a shopping basket and plastic hangers – described how the video came to be.
“Our final day was closing in, we were discussing how to close out the store and had no ideas. We decided that we would play the song "Closing Time" by Semisonic over the P.A system, but Kyle decided to take it one step further and taught himself how to play it on the guitar,” Holbein wrote on Facebook.
“In one take, and no practice, we took to our make shift instruments,” he wrote. “We poured our heart into our final goodbye through song, to a job we loved, and a building that contains so many great memories!”
The video has been viewed more than 424,000 times on Facebook as of Wednesday afternoon and shared 8,382 times.
