An agitated moose in Smithers, B.C., was caught on video attacking a bystander with its front legs.
Laryne Gamble, who uploaded the video to Facebook on Feb. 12, wrote that she decided to pull over when she saw the animal standing on the side of the road.
She said she wanted to record a snippet of the action because her sister-in-law had never seen a moose.
The animal then started walking toward a woman who had passed by, kicking her from behind on the shoulder. That’s when the video cuts off.
“I really hope the lady is okay,” Gamble stated.
Media reports suggest the woman was not seriously injured.
Conservation officers have determined that the moose is pregnant and was acting defensively, HQBulkeyvalley.com reports.
The video has been shared more than 2,000 times on Facebook.
Smithers is about 350 km east of Prince Rupert, B.C.
