Nobody did get shafted.....and the Toronto police officer responsible has been charged.
Now, this guy (singing the tune) is a typical lefty....brain-dead.
First of all, Harper did not run the police at the G-20....policing there was entirely a provincial and municipal game, and even the outrageous rules declared and used by Jackboot Bill Blair were instituted by the idiot Premier McGuinty, and approved by the sub-idiot Mayor David Miller....Miller a screaming lefty, McGuinty even worse, a Liberal. Neither a friend of Harper.
But you know, we'll ignore the facts in the smear campaign........

It was an international event (foreign affairs) so that is federal jurisdiction. I cannot see how a province can issue a call to police country wide to come to TO to brutalize peaceful demonstrators, spend a billion dollars of federal tax dollars and predetermine the need for such expenditures and man power without having first hand knowledge and control over the outcome - in other words, have planned the need for same. What happened in TO was a carbon copy of what happened in Quebec City, agent provocateurs. The stage was set, the outcome inevitable because it was planned that way. It was a show of force designed to make the gullible public think they need more protection from themselves, when in fact we need protection from government. Only the right wing would fail to see the obvious because they are blinded by their fear of the left.
